Levelled reading passage + comprehension set
Generate a short passage at two lengths/levels with retrieval and inference questions.
Problem
Finding two versions of the same topic at different reading loads takes time; generic generators ignore primary English question types.
Who it is for
Teachers who need a quick dual-level reading set for guided reading or homework without pulling from school word lists.
Steps
- Choose a topic and approximate word counts for Version A (easier) and Version B (harder).
- Ask for retrieval questions (find it in the text) and inference questions (think beyond the line).
- Ban invented pupil names and trademarked school materials.
- Read both passages aloud; fix unnatural phrasing and cultural fit for HK/Asia.
- Decide which version each group uses; keep answer keys private to you.
Sample prompt
EXAMPLE — edit before you use; never paste pupil names
